About Mod Deep Dives
Modded Minecraft is a blast. The imagination, incredible diversity, and the sheer number of mods build upon the vanilla Minecraft experience makes a classic game infinitely replayable. However, it can sometimes feel infinitely frustrating as well. The root of the problem lies with the universal fact that developers… whether novice or professional or anywhere in between… are notoriously bad about writing documentation for their work. Then you pile onto this the fact that many mod developers are doing this in their very limited spare time apart from their day job, schoolwork, and regular friends and family obligations… and it can be a wonder that there is any documentation out there at all. But from the point of view of the poor schmuck trying to figure out what a mod does and whether it would be useful in any given Minecraft world, this is a bit of a disaster. I have felt this pain first hand and I decided that I would try to alleviate the problem a bit by releasing a series of videos detailing the design, purpose, and general operation of the mods that I use and have grown to love so that others can come to know them as I have… but without all the web searches and cursing that I went through. These videos are more than simple showcases, but not quite as in-depth as a tutorial. I think you will find them very useful.
