1:11:51 What Was That?!?!?

- While talking about old breakfast cereal commercials, I mentioned smorgasbord. I also mentioned diabetes amongst older folks… to be clear… I am not diabetic. But I still have to watch what I take in.
- Shortly afterward, I used the term, “sticky wicket“.
- Just in case you were wondering what a super collider is, you can find out more here.
- I referenced the Archmage Bigby from the original Greyhawk campaign of Dungeons and Dragons.
- When I said, “the rest on gift certificate”… it was a reference to the old Wheel of Fortune show back in the day. After winning a bunch of money, the contestants used that money to “buy” prizes from a selection and if there was nothing else in the selection that they wanted, they could opt to take the remaining cash on a gift certificate. I have no idea where the gift certificate was good… but it just stuck in my mind from all those days I was home sick from school and there was nothing else to watch on television.
- My wife and I have watched all the Stargate movies and series at least a couple of times over. I referenced Stargate SG-1 and specifically the plotline of the A Matter of Time episode.
- While talking about when I first started playing Minecraft, I mentioned Pocket Edition, the iPhone 4, and Hobbit Holes.
- Just for reference, here is what the Mach number means. When I mentioned riding a horse at mach 12… that is clearly an exaggeration.
- I mentioned Twinkies wrappers.
- When I said, “Open the doors please, Hal”… I was referring to this classic scene from 2001 A Space Odyssey.
- I mentioned that one of the sets of armor from the Ars Nouveau mod looks like something Gandalf would wear.
- I used the English idiom, “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth“.
- At one point, I said, “Nice shootin’, Tex.” That’s an homage to this.
- Once upon a time, there was a popular television show called “Diff’rent Strokes” and one of the catchphrases of one of the main characters was “Watcha talkin’ ’bout, Willis?“
- I used the term “muggles” to refer to non-developers. I also used the term “schmuck“.
- “Wizard needs food badly” is from one of my favorite standup arcade games from back in the day, Gauntlet. I also talked about some old arcade games including Space Invaders, Ms. Pac Man, and Space Wars.
